  • Heidi at the piano

Heidi Samuels-Hauss is the founder of HMS MUSIC. She started her company in Sept 2000 shortly after receiving her Bachelor of Music in piano performance. Music has always been a major part of Heidi's life, starting at an early age of four. First encounters with the piano began with lessons at Settlement Music School and progressed throughout the years with other private study. By age 9, Heidi started accompanying her elementary school orchestra. Accompanying progressed through middle and high school choirs as well as pit orchestra for various plays. Other musical experiences include art festivals, competitions at local malls, and the achievement of winning The Lillian Weiss Scholarship and award.

Heidi continued her studies on the piano at The University of Delaware with emphasis on teaching music. She studied piano intensely with professor and recording artist Michael Steinberg. Throughout her college years, Heidi was active in organizations like the Music Teachers National Conference (MENC), Sigma Alpha Iota (a music fraternity for woman), as well as other honors societies. She was involved with her schools marching band as well as small jazz ensembles. Teaching piano began during Heidi's first year of college through the Community Music School and a local store off campus. She completed her college degree with a major senior recital at the university.

Today Heidi resides with her husband Dave in southern NJ, teaching piano.  Heidi has performed at numerous places including The Weston Club by Sagemore, Tavern on Camac, The Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, Clarion Hotel, Tomasello Winery, Hotel Dupont, and High Street Grille.
